To help encourage people to stay active during the Holy Month of Ramadan, Colnago Abu Dhabi has today announced its new ‘Iftar and Community Cycle Ride’ initiative.
Taking place every Thursday during Ramadan at its Colnago Caffe in Al Hudayriyat Island, Colnago, supplier for UAE Team Emirates and UAE Team ADQ cycling teams, is inviting members of the public to break their fast and then join a free community ride around the island.
With Ramadan providing an opportunity to cultivate good eating habits, experience diverse cuisine and boost your health and wellbeing, every day at Iftar, individuals will be able to choose from a specially curated Ramadan menu including a variety of delicious and nutritious dishes and beverages. This special dedicated Ramadan menu combines classic Arabic tastes and contemporary European cuisine.
The ‘Iftar and Community Cycle Ride’ activity is part of Colnago’s on-going efforts to engage with the local community, support the growth of cycling in the UAE and inspire adults and children to adopt a healthy lifestyle during the Holy Month.
Taking place every Thursday, after eating together, people can join the Community Cycle Ride which will run for approximately one hour from 8:45pm, after the Isha prayer. Participants are invited to bring their own bicycle to take part. Bike rental is also available, with the opportunity to rent the same top-end Colnago bikes used by professionals riders from UAE Team Emirates and UAE Team ADQ.
Since Colnago Abu Dhabi opened in October 2022, the brand has hosted more than 30 Community Rides that have included the participation of more than 2500 amateur and professional cyclists. Their rides take place on bespoke cycling tracks at Al Hudayriyat Island - infrastructure that has been built by the UAE Government as part of its long-term strategy in promoting fitness and wellbeing.
The opening of the Colnago Abu Dhabi comes two years after the landmark deal in May 2020 in which Colnago was acquired by Chimera Investments, a private equity company based in the UAE capital.
